Jesus Rested

Jesus rested in the middle of the storm.

Maybe instead of exhausting ourselves with worry and the perhaps offensive question to him of, “Why aren’t you fixing this God?” or “When will I see hope in this situation Lord?”

Sometimes in our asking for help he calls us back to faith by simply responding, “rest within the storm.” And maybe that’s the lesson to get us to be more like him in order to build our faith.

If we don’t understand the materials, how can we build with it?

A carpenter doesn’t pick up wood, nails, screws and a hammer without understanding what each item functions as for his project.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

It certainly isn’t easy to stretch and then allow our faith to grow. Oh no. It feels like torture sometimes more often than not. But that faith that is crafted in the shadows of our storms are the light that shines into other areas of our life. It’s also the light that shines into the lives of others around us.

It takes a lot of strength to praise Him in the middle of your storm. I get that. Do it anyways.
